Food Find Friday: MunchPak

So this week ends the subscription  box series. The last box I will be review is from Munchpak. Munchpak Is similar to Japan Crate. What makes Munchpak different  is that it contains treats from all over the world.

Now I know what you are thinking treats are treats. How different can they be? Well let me tell you Munchpak was definitely an experience in a box. Take "Miaow Miaow Potatoe Chips" They look like regular chips but the taste and texture were different from anything I've ever tasted. They where airy kinda like a cheese puff but without the cheese.

There was also tons of candy. My favorite was the Mui-Bon.
It tasted like a Twix and Reeses had a baby!!

And don't get me started on the cookies. For instance the "Amsterdam Good Cookie" was so darn GOOD! There was this one product that I could not find name that tasted like a deep fried garlic bread stick with the texture of a cheese puff and ramen noodle after taste. It sounds weird but taste delicious.

You guys, there is so much in this box. If you guys want to play Russian Roulette : Snack Edition you must try this box. Four stars from us only because it doesn't include a sheet or something that tells you where the snacks came from or what they are.

If your interested in buying a Munchpak here is the link  www.munchpak.com/!!

Sip and Paint

Sip Sip Paint Paint

Sip and paint or Draw and Drink events have become very popular and are a great activity for girls or date nights. Unfortunately they can run you about 40 bucks per person and you only get one glass of wine!
A cheaper alternative would be places like Ceramics in the City here in Denver. Ceramics in the city is a walk-in shop that mostly geared toward ceramic painters. Although they don’t advertise it they have canvas painting as well as glass and ceramic paintings. Plus you get to bring in your own drinks. That’s what we’re talking about! It has a really a chill environment.
Be forewarned they don’t give you step by step instructions but they have easy to use tutorials.
For $26 they provide you the canvas, paints necessary and tips. They give you two books with the tutorials. One book holds paintings that will take you 1-2 hours and the other 2.5-3 hours. We think this is the best part because everyone gets to pick what they want to paint.
Once you’ve picked the painting you want to paint you trace the template in the tutorial using carbon paper on to the canvas. From there it’s a matter of following the directions about how and where to paint the picture.  It’s really not hard.
If you’re into arts and crafts they also let you have parties there but you’ll want to make a reservation just to make sure there’s enough tables.
Surely there are tons of places like this all over it’s just a matter of looking.

We’re not the best artists in the world but we think we did pretty well. Don’t you?
This is not a sponsored post BTW!

Bacon Beer Festival

Keep Calm Eat Bacon

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of going to the Bacon and Beer festival here in Denver. The start of the day wasn't the best we awoke to a snow storm that seemed determined to ruin the day, however no amount of snow is going to stop people from enjoying an event that revolves around Bacon and Beer. Once we arrived to the Sports Authority field (where the Broncos play) we could smell the delicious bacon aroma in the air, inside there were several stands with local brewery's and restaurants giving out samples. Along with all the food and beer there were also a bacon eating contest and games going on and by the looks of them they were having a blast. One of the standouts for me was the live band playing inside the felicity they were really rocking the place and made the night that much more exciting.  All in all this event was so much fun, we left with smiles on our faces and full belly's. If you are interested in attending the Bacon and Beer festival I strongly suggest you check out their website to see if there will be any festivals thrown in your area.

Japan Crate

Food Find Friday: Japan Crate
Who doesn’t absolutely love Japan? They gave us Manga, Sushi, Geishas and so much more. Okay, Okay those things are a bit superficial but we do love them. And now they’ve given us something else to love. Enter Japan Crate.

 BAM!

Japan Crate is a monthly subscription box that contains a variety of Japanese goodies. Their prices start at $12 a month. What a deal! “What’s in this magical box?” you ask. Well I can tell you because the nice people at JapanCrate.com sent me a free box to tell you about it.
First of all it comes with this cute little booklet that contains a manga, info about the products in the box, and a little article on Japanese culture.  Isn’t it adorable?

It also has tons of treats. My favorite were these purple gummy cubes called Purro Mocchi Grape. They tasted like a soft sour grape gumdrop. Yum!

Then it had this cute little panda cookie called Sakupa Giant Wafer. It’s a sugar wafer with chocolate cream on top. In the shape of a panda face. Awww.

Another of my favs was Caplicocot heart shaped chocolate cookies, These are light, crispy and perfect for munching.

Along with the sweets were the salty snacks. Chip Star Ebikoubashi and Calbee Shrimp Chips. If you can imagine that Shrimp Flavored Ramen Noodle flavor in Chip form, that’s what Chip Star taste like. Calbee Shrimp Chips taste more like the spicy shrimp Ramen. It was definitely something new.

Some other wonderful items in the box were: Wow!? Such Banana (that’s the name); a banana coated marshmallow, a Kawaii little can of pineapple soda, Sherbert Pero Cola gummy hand (it really tastes like Coke!),  123apple gum (no explanation needed), Waku Waku Zoo Animal Diy candy kit, Fruity Shop Gummy, Fue Ramune ( look like mints taste like smarties) and…
This charming little otter toy called Kawauso No Kotsume.

No lie getting this package was so much fun. It would be great as a gift for the friend that has it all or even for yourself. I really think it’s a great deal.  For more info check out Japan Crate site
Japancrate.com.

This Food Find gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ for sure.

In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, combine condensed milk, cocoa powder and butter.
Cook and stir occasionally until your chocolate is thick (about 10 minutes). Once your chocolate is done pour it into a heat resistant bowl and let the chocolate rest until it's cool enough to handle.

Food Find Friday: Four Friends Kitchen

My Simple Review on Four Friends Kitchen
Four Friends Kitchen is located on
2893 Roslyn St, Denver, CO 80238

This week I visited Four Friends Kitchen with my fam. The atmosphere was very chill and unpretentious. The staff for the most part was friendly. Our server (a tall blonde girl whose name we didn’t catch) was all smiles. That kind of made up for a different server who had a frown permanently etched on her face. I only mention this because she stood out from across the room and barely even acknowledged us when she was clearing some of our plates. Look we all have problems but when you’re a server it’s your job to at least be polite. Overall I’d give the service 4 of 5 hearts because it was a little slow (not because of the server). We waited for about 10 minutes after we finished eating for our check. One server even came over and said, “It looks like you’re done,” before taking the salt and pepper off our table and giving it to another one. She should have at least came back and given us the check!
But let’s move away from the service and talk about the food. Ah, yes the food. Let’s start with the Beignets. OMG! Amazing just like New Orleans (except they’re round instead of the well-known square pillows that the most of us are familiar with). They were crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside and the wild berry preserves sooo good.

Something else we tried were the huevos rancheros; also delicioso. They take a crispy tortilla, coat it with their special ranchero sauce and refried beans, then place an eggs, avocado, relish and sour cream on top. The flavors and textures complement each other perfectly.

Some other things we tried were the omelets, which were perfectly fluffy, and BP & J waffles. The waffles were for the little ones and they gobbled them right up. Yes, the food overall was pretty good EXCEPT … them potatoes guys. Look I like crispy taters as much as the next gal but these were practically burnt on the outside not to mention lukewarm on the inside. What a downer. They were seriously on a roll until I tried one of those potatoes. Even still I would definitely go back because everything else was spot on.

If you’re ever in Denver guys, give them a shot. An overall 4 out of 5 hearts from Simply Made it (just work on those potatoes).

Adult Coloring Party

LIVE LIFE IN COLOR

After coming across the adult coloring books in literally every store and hearing how it helps release stress my sister had a clever idea of having a coloring party. She had enough coloring pages/ coloring pencil for everyone. Of course with every party there has to be great food! She had delicious warm sandwiches, pasta salad and of course chips. For beverages we had Sangria and guava punch. All in all the party was delightful and the coloring really helped relax everyone.
